Having qualified in 1992 at St Mary’s Hospital, Paddington, Claire worked in a number of roles in the NHS in large teaching hospitals before moving into the private sector.
It was following this move into private practice where Claire developed her interest in sports related injuries - working with some of the England Badminton teams and touring to South East Asia with the Elite squad. She also worked with the England under 15’s and was tournament physiotherapist at the All England Badminton Championships in Birmingham for 4 years. This also included working as part of the team of tournament physiotherapists at the IBF 2003 Badminton World Championships
Claire also spent three years working at the London Scottish Rugby Club as physiotherapist to the development squad from 1996 to 1999.
Whilst working in private practice in London, Claire had the opportunity to work in The Shoulder Unit at the Hospital of St John and St Elizabeth. This was the beginning of Claire’s road to specialising in the treatment and rehabilitation of surgical and non-surgical shoulder injuries. Claire has continued this work with her move to Sevenoaks in 2005 and has built up a close working relationship with shoulder specialists. She continues to incorporate all aspects of physiotherapy into the rehabilitation of these patients.
Claire is a member of the Acupuncture Association of Physiotherapists and uses this skill widely in her daily practise alongside more traditional manual therapy and exercise rehabilitation.
More recently Claire has studied to incorporate the use of Clinical Pilates – with use of the reformer and trapeze equipment – into her rehabilitation. She has developed a special interest in the rehabilitation of those who have hypermobility and their associated joint and musculoskeletal problems.
Claire lives locally with her husband and two children
