Reflexology was first practiced by the early Indian, Chinese and Egyptian people. It was introduced to the West in 1913. Dr William Fitzgerald noticed that reflex areas on the feet and hands are linked to other areas and organs of the body within the same zone. This was developed in the 1930s by Eunice Ingham into the zone theory that we use today.
Reflexology improves the circulation, reduces stress and stress-related conditions. It can be used to restore and maintain the body's natural equilibrium and to encourage healing. The reflexologist uses hands only to apply gentle pressure to the feet.
It is good for pain relief and muscle relaxation, back pain, headaches, digestive problems and hormone imbalances.
"Reflexology treats the whole body, not just the symptoms; it encourages the body to heal itself at its own pace"
