Chris Harvey

BSc (hons), SSMTdip, MSMA

Chris completed his degree in sports science at Brunel University in 2006 where he took a special interest in anatomy and physiology. Following this Chris went on to train at the Southern School of Massage Therapy, a school accredited by the governing body for sports massage (Sports Massage Association – SMA). He is a full member of the SMA which means that year by year he maintains his professional development by enrolling on courses designed to keep SMA members up to date with the latest techniques and other developments within the industry.

Since receiving his diploma Chris has worked on a wide range of clients in differing environments including professional rugby players as part of an experienced medical team at premiership rugby club London Irish RFC. He has also worked on site at large sporting events such as the London marathon and the Brighton triathlon. This experience has allowed him to become familiar with massage techniques used pre and post competition as well as the training phase. He has been able to work on a range of athletes from amateur competitors to elite internationals.

He has also worked on clients in a clinical environment and treated common problems such as work related stress, postural stress, migraines, frozen shoulder and helped in the recovery of other common injuries such as ligament and tendon sprains and muscle strains.

Chris is a keen sportsman himself, and plays football at a senior level. He also plays cricket in the summer, and enjoys golf and tennis in his spare time. This helps him understand the importance of body maintenance and recovery.
