Kirsten is a Mat, Reformer and Studio Pilates Instructor qualified through Polestar Pilates. She is also Barre trained through Stott Pilates and initially Reformer trained through Peak Pilates International.
Kirsten is returning to her home town of Sevenoaks from New Zealand, where she trained as a Pilates Instructor, and spent the last 11-12 years. The past 5 years she has run her own successful Pilates business in a coastal suburb of Auckland City.
Kirsten’s fitness background expands over 20 years. She initially trained in the UK as an Exercise to Music instructor through London Central YMCA; and continued training in the early days through Fitness Professionals, a respected association for fitness industry professionals around the world, now simply called FitPro.
As a Fitness Instructor she enjoyed teaching group classes around a full time admin job: aerobics, aqua aerobics, step, body conditioning, circuits as well as 1:1 personal training. Her main focus now is teaching Pilates.
Kirsten loves seeing the progress clients make, to help them achieve an enjoyable movement experience and to help them reach their goals. She gets encouraged hearing about how her clients are sleeping better, pain in certain areas of the body relieved, improved breathing, flexibility increased, strength improved during sports activities and everyday activities performed with much better ease.
Kirsten is familiar with using a variety of props in her classes, including foam rollers, therabands, circles, balls; and has experience teaching all age groups and sports individuals.
She has taught through clinics, gyms and Studios and believes in giving good, clear and attentive instruction.
Kirsten has a diploma in Diet & Nutrition and has an interest in breathing techniques.
She rowed for a short period of time, which she loved; enjoys running in Knole Park and had an adventure travelling around the world on her own for three years many years ago.
