Body Control Pilates Instructor
Julia Russell is a Body Control Pilates accredited matwork instructor and a member of The Register of Exercise Professionals.
I have been practising Pilates for fifteen years, and believe in integrating the technique as much as possible into everyday life. As a sports enthusiast, I enjoy dressage riding, playing tennis and skiing and have used the multiple benefits of Pilates to greatly improve my performance. I moved into the professional Pilates world in my fifties, having always had a keen interest in health, fitness and wellbeing.
I previously worked in investment banking and lived overseas for a number of years. I am also qualified to teach English as a foreign language. For the past 10 years I have been a member of the Central Kent Bench. I have three grown up children and live in an oast house.
I believe passionately in the benefits of Pilates as a form of mindful body conditioning - it can reshape and tone your body, your posture will improve and you will learn to relax and release unwanted stress and tension. Pilates will improve performance and body awareness in all forms of movement, balancing strength, co-ordination and flexibility. It is a safe form of exercise suitable for all ages and all levels of fitness.
