    BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy-University of Brighton, 1998

Postgraduate certificates completed in both Australia and the UK focusing on both MSK and Pelvic health

 

Past Employment:

Specialist Women’s Health and Pelvic Physiotherapist in private practice

Worked solely in private practice since 2007

 Travelled and worked as a physio in Australia for a year (‘98-99)

 

Completed general rotations within the NHS (‘00-02) at the Royal Free Hospital and specialised in 2003 in the areas of MSK (orthopaedics, sports med, oncology) and women’s health. Worked in various settings in and around London including Parkside Hospital in Wimbledon, Sprint and the White Hart clinic

 

 Additional Roles:

 Presenting on topics of the role of physiotherapy for pelvic pain with specific relevance to endometriosis at regional study days and how we can reduce the symptoms of menopause at various women’s health events

A Mummy MOT practitioner regularly promoting women’s health physiotherapy in the post-partum period

Working Background:

 Gemma graduated from the University of Brighton in 1998 and has worked extensively within the public and private sector in both Australia and the UK.  Gemma has a specific interest in the area of Women's Health, specialising in the treatment of both gynaecological and obstetric conditions as well as treating all musculoskeletal disorders and sports injuries both acute and chronic.  Her passion for treating is evident through her comprehensive, holistic and compassionate approach to identifying the underlying causes and problems. Her treatments utilise a combination of manual therapy, clinical rehabilitation, Pilates and acupuncture.

Post grad courses since 2006 focussed on women’s and pelvic health including visceral manipulation, acupuncture, the hypertonic pelvic floor, lower bowel and pelvic floor dysfunction, mummy mot training, pregnancy yoga to name a few….
